Larissa is also extremely passionate about reducing the incidence of skin cancer and fatalities associated with it. Australia has the highest incidence of skin cancer in the world - with 2 out of 3 Australians being diagnosed with skin cancer by the time they are 70. In 2012 she founded biotechnology company Coral Sunscreen (www.coralsunscreen.org ) Larissa works with the CSIRO Bio-medical division to create world first UV and visible light protection inspired by Great Barrier Reef corals ability to protect themselves from some of the harshest UV rays in the world at low tide. Of course, our scientific
team does not harvest or collect the coral to make the sunscreen - we have duplicated their UV protection ability scientifically.
